Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by a mixed ethnic family. Her mother is English and her father is Nigerian. She was raised in a council estate south of London. When she was fourteen, she was enrolled at The Brit School. In London she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was awarded. During her time at the academy, she performed in several performances on stage, such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting journey began with Storm Damage. Since then, she has made guest appearances in Teachers, Doctors, Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), with Colin Farrell. Her success has led her to be cast in Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. She also was offered the part as Bambi in The ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the series two and three. Madekwe was also the lead character in How to lose friends & betray people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment 2008. Her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe made her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes on The CW, and was later cancelled. In February 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was revealed that Madekwe, who had played a regular role in the previous two seasons had decided to quit the show following a guest appearance in the premier episode of the season's new episode. She was Tituba in the TV show Salem in 2014 until 2016. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg was also on the show with Madekwe on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was born into a big family from Hamilton, Ontario. Ashley Leggat was a part of Roy and Patty along with her three older siblings, Brett, Todd and Bram as well as Rob. Ashley's athletic brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months as well as hockey in winter. Ashley was never able to walk. She would dance. When she reached two and a half when she was a little older, she was a part of Baby Ballet. It was then that she discovered Ashley's interest in dance. Ashley was a competitive dancer throughout the various categories until the time she graduated from high school. She was a competitor in ballet, tap, jazz as well as pointe and the acrobatics. She was the top soloist in important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
