Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American as well as a Canadian artist and singer. Her albums span over 20 years. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk and alternative rock although it also has influence from hip music and jazz. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is considered to be the father of the DIY movement and is among the first musicians to launch her own record label in 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd, 1970. Her father had Italian ancestry and her mom was born in Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and recorded the track "32 Flavors". The track is part of her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's sixth studio album. One version of this song can be heard on the film Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. In 2013 DiFranco apologized when it was discovered that she planned to host a three-day workshop in the former Louisiana slave plantation. Even though she canceled the event however, a lot of people (including our paper) were not able to feel regret. DiFranco released a new apology several days after.
