Alexa Meade's style of painting, that is extremely ephemeral nature, is apparent. The only piece from her work that is preserved is her photograph. The painting and the photographic methods are tightly interwoven that the result is a flat, two dimensional space, which achieves trompe l'oeil, wherein the third dimension is discernible only in certain areas that are close to the eyes or hair. Meade often blends her painted characters in the 3D world around her. They are able to interact with this self-created universe. The distinctions between performance installation, photography and painting are thus dissolved.
